22' Roaring Rockin' Rapids Dry Slide
The Roaring Rockin’ Rapids is the tallest dry slide we deliver in the Lynchburg area — 22 feet at the top platform, with a 36-foot run from the back of the climbing stairs to the front of the landing. It runs completely dry, which means no hose, no drain, no soaked yard and no pile of wet towels at the end of the afternoon. That also makes it one of the few big slides we can put on asphalt or a paved lot instead of grass, so it works for school field days, church festivals and parking-lot events where a water unit is out of the question.

What this slide needs on site
Plan for a footprint of 41 feet long by 18 feet wide, and 23 feet of clear height. The vertical is the number people underestimate. Before you book, walk the setup spot and look up: power lines, tree limbs, gutter lines and basketball hoops are what stop a 22-foot unit, not the ground space. Indoors is almost always out, since very few gyms and halls have 23 feet of unobstructed ceiling. The slide needs one dedicated circuit, and the outlet has to sit within 50 to 75 feet of where the blower stands. If your setup spot is further from the house than that a back field, a park, a lot with no service add a generator to the order rather than running extension cords, which will not carry the load reliably over that distance.
Dry slide or water slide?
Dry is the right call when the event is not in mid-summer heat, when the surface is paved, when guests are in regular clothes, or when you simply do not want to deal with a wet yard afterwards. If the party is in July and everyone is in swimsuits anyway, look at the 19′ Thunder Mountain water slide or the rest of the water slide lineup instead. One thing worth knowing: do not add water to a dry slide. The surface is not built for it, the landing has no catch pool, and it voids the rental agreement.
Pricing and rental length
The Roaring Rockin’ Rapids is $395 for up to four hours, $434.50 for five hours and $474 for six. Most backyard birthdays book the four-hour window and finish with time to spare; school and church events usually want five or six so setup and teardown fall outside the program.
If you need the unit for longer than six hours, or overnight for a two-day festival, send us a quote request and we will price the window.
Delivery in Lynchburg, Forest and nearby
We deliver and set up the Roaring Rockin’ Rapids across Lynchburg and the surrounding area, including Forest, Bedford, Madison Heights, Amherst and Appomattox. Summer Saturdays and the two weekends either side of a school year book out first, and there is only one of this unit, so if your date is fixed it is worth reserving early. Plenty of customers add a combo bounce house for the younger kids or a popcorn or cotton candy machine on the same delivery, which costs nothing extra in setup time since the truck is already coming.
Common questions about this slide
How much space do I need for a 22-foot slide?
Clear an area 41 feet long, 18 feet wide and 23 feet high. The slide itself is 36 by 13 by 22 feet; the extra allowance is a working room for the blower, the anchor points and the front landing. The height is the constraint that catches people out measure for overhead power lines and tree limbs before you book, not on delivery day.
Can it go on a driveway, or does it have to be grass?
Either works. Grass is preferred because it stakes down, but because this unit runs dry it can be set on asphalt or concrete with sandbags instead of stakes. Tell us the surface when you book so the crew brings the right anchoring. What we cannot set up on is gravel, mulch, dirt or a slope — those either tear the vinyl or leave the slide sitting unevenly.
Does this slide use water?
No, and it should not. It is built as a dry slide, with no water line, no sprinkler and no catch pool at the bottom. Running a hose on it damages the surface and makes the landing unsafe. If you want a wet unit, book from the water slide range instead.
What power does it need, and what if there is no outlet nearby?
One dedicated circuit, with an outlet within 50 to 75 feet of the setup spot. Do not plan on sharing that circuit with a concession machine or a sound system — the blower has to run continuously for the whole rental, and a tripped breaker deflates the slide. For parks, fields and lots with no power, add a generator to the booking.
