Overview of obstacle course rentals
An obstacle course rental is a single inflatable track with tunnels to crawl through, pop-ups to dodge, a wall to climb and a slide at the far end. We rent them from 30 feet up to 95 feet, which means the same idea scales from a small backyard birthday to a 300-person church festival. Setup and takedown are always included, and most of our courses start at $277 — with a compact rock-climb-and-double-slide unit from $200 if space is tight.
Bedford obstacle course rentals are our busiest category from spring through fall, and we deliver them across Bedford and Bedford County, Forest, Moneta, Montvale and Huddleston.
Why obstacle course races caught on
Obstacle course races went from a novelty to a mainstream weekend activity over the last decade — mud runs, ninja gyms, and the television versions kids grow up watching. That shift changed what people expect from a party. A bounce house is fun for twenty minutes. An obstacle course race is a contest: two kids side by side, scrambling over the wall, sliding out the end and running straight back to the start to do it again.
Here are five reasons that difference matters, depending on what kind of event you are planning.
Reason 1: Perfect for summer camp activities
Camp directors have the hardest scheduling job in Bedford. You have a wide age range, a long day, and weather that can turn on you at two in the afternoon.
Enhancing physical fitness
The best summer camp activities are the ones campers do not realize are exercise. A 60-foot course keeps a line moving continuously run it, finish, get back in line which means a group can cycle through for an hour without a single “when is it my turn” complaint. Campers get real cardio, climbing and crawling out of it, and they ask to go again.

For a full camp day we usually suggest one 60-foot racing course plus a shorter unit for the youngest group, and often inflatable games for rent from $49 so there is a second station running alongside. Adding an attendant from $60 frees your counselors to actually supervise rather than run equipment.
Reason 2: Unique birthday party activities
Most birthday party activities have been done to death by the time a kid turns eight. They have seen the bounce house at four different parties this spring.
Memorable experiences
An obstacle course is the one that gets talked about at school on Monday. It works because it has a finish line there is a winner, a rematch, and a reason to keep going. Parents tell us the same thing every time: they booked two hours and the kids used all of it.
It also covers a wider age range than almost anything else we carry. That matters at a party where the guest of honor is seven, there are cousins who are twelve, and there is a four-year-old sibling who wants in. For that youngest group specifically, a shorter course or a bounce house instead is the better call — a long course is a lot for little ones.
Customization options
You can build the whole afternoon around the course:
- Add a water element. In July and August, pair a dry course with a water slide.
- Add food. Concessions — snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy — start at $65 and turn a backyard into a carnival.
- Add a second attraction so there is something to do between turns.
- Go smaller if the yard is small. A combo unit with a slide gives you similar energy in a tighter footprint.

Company picnics, family days and employee appreciation cookouts are a growing share of what we deliver around Bedford and corporate event rentals are where obstacle courses surprise people most.
Team building benefits
Adults use these far more than anyone expects. Put two people from different departments in adjacent lanes and they are competing and laughing inside of a minute. No facilitator, no trust falls, no name tags required. It is the cheapest team building on the list and the only kind nobody rolls their eyes at.
Go long for an adult crowd. Sixty feet and up a 30-foot course is over too quickly to be a real race between grown-ups.
Fun and engaging activities
For company events we can also bring a mechanical bull, rock climbing wall, or dunk tank, plus tents, tables and chairs for shade and check-in. An event manager from $125 runs the setup so nobody on your team spends their family day working it.
If you are hosting at a park, ask about power when you reserve the shelter most park shelters have no outlet we can reach, so we bring a generator from $95.

Racing courses have two lanes side by side for head-to-head heats — that is the one to pick if you want cheering. Single-lane courses move a crowd steadily and suit younger groups. Length changes the experience more than any other single factor, so match it to your crowd size first and your budget second.

Safety features
Every unit is cleaned and checked before it goes on the truck, then inspected again at setup. When we arrive we walk you through the rules that matter:
- One rider per lane at a time on racing courses
- No shoes, no glasses, nothing in pockets
- Keep little kids and big kids in separate groups
- Somebody 18 or older watching the whole time
- Shut it down and clear everyone out if the wind picks up
That last one counts here. Summer storms come over the Peaks of Otter in a hurry. If the weather turns, call us we would rather collect a unit early than leave it out in a squall. Our full rental policies cover deposits, rescheduling and supervision.
For schools, churches and parks, we provide a certificate of insurance naming you as additional insured. Ask for it when you book so there is time to sort it.
Reason 5: Convenient backyard obstacle courses
Backyard obstacle courses are our most requested Bedford rental, and they fit more yards than people assume.
Space requirements
Measure before you book. A 30-foot course needs roughly 35 by 15 feet of usable space. You need:
- Clear, flat ground the length of the course, plus about five feet on each side and at each end
- Overhead clear of branches and power lines
- A gate or path wide enough for the rolled unit — this is the one that catches people out
- Grass, or a flat hard surface like concrete or asphalt (slopes and uneven ground will not work)
- A dedicated 115V, 20-amp outlet within 50 to 75 feet of the setup spot. Each unit needs its own two blowers on one circuit will trip a breaker mid-party.
Easy setup and take down
You do none of it. We deliver one to three hours ahead of your window, set up, anchor the unit, walk you through the rules, and come back after the party ends. If the park will not allow staking, we anchor with sandbags instead at no extra charge just tell us when you book.
Before we arrive, mow the setup spot and clear it of pet waste, sticks, rocks and sprinkler heads. That is the whole of your job.
